Throughout her career, Ashley Judd has built her reputation on playing the strong and courageous female lead alongside many notable actors like Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones. However, despite these giants in the acting world playing a role next to hers, she has never failed to captivate and audience and can balance out even the most shining of star lineups.

During her early career she was best known for her work on the series “Sisters”. However, over the course of her career, she has left behind much of the television work and has concentrated her efforts on finding quality roles that inspire people, especially women. It seems as though she is very interested in psychological suspense and thrillers as well as dramas that leave you on the edge of your seat and allow you to connect with the character. This has led to her being a star in such blockbusters as “High Crimes”, “Crossing Over”, and “Double Jeopardy”.

Nevertheless, her fame has never gone to her head and she is still very active in causes that she believes in. Aside from her work with YouthAIDS, she is also an animal rights advocate (not over the top though) and she even promoted Barrack Obama during the 2008 presidential campaigns and other democratic candidates through the years. In addition to her other projects in 2008, she also traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo to help shed light on the political climate there and to help bring publicity to the genocide that takes place in countries like that with the help of the Enough Project.
